Wonderful and large Chinese Bronze Buddha, mounted on an aesthetic wooden custom stand with the effect as if it was pending above the stand.

The buddha has a serene and meditating expression. The statue is hollow inside.

It dates from the 19th century, and the display stand was added in the middle of the last century by our family.

It is in very good antique condition with some traces of age - please have a look on the pictures.

Large Chinese Qing Bronze Buddha on aesthetic custom stand     1800 $

Wonderful and large Chinese Medicine Bronze Buddha, mounted on an aesthetic wooden custom stand with the effect as if it was pending above the stand.

The right hand is held facing downward with fingers extended toward the ground, palm facing outward toward the viewer, a bowl of herbs rests in the left hand upon the lap. It is believed by the Tibetans that the Buddha was responsible for delivering the knowledge of medicine to the people of the world, and in fact the right hand facing outward signifies 'granting a boon' (meaning, giving a blessing) to mankind. This is a common hand gesture amongst both Buddhist and Hindu statues.

Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Buddha Head with rests of gilt   7000 $   sold

Very aesthetic Chinese stone Buddha head, massiv and solid with no repairs. Great antique condition. Our family property since 1935. It can be visited in our private home in Germany or in our gallery in Luxembourg on appointment.

It dates from the Ming Dynasty or earlier. Weight appr. 16 kg!!!

The round face well carved with gentle expression, the full cheeks and fleshy chin framed by large, pendulous ear lobes, beautiful rests of gilt visible. It comes together with a black wood cube as a display stand, measure 35 cm height x 25 cm length x 25 cm width.

Large Siam - Thai Bronze Buddha 53 cm height     1800 $

 A rare Siam 18th. century Ayutthaya style gilt bronze Buddha sits with legs crossed, right hand in Abhaya Mudra, the energy of no fear gesture, left hand in the mudra of meditation.

Abhaya is translated from Sanskrit as fearlessness. The Abhaya mudra is made with the open palm of the right hand extending outwards at the chest level or slightly higher. If you look at this Buddha hand gesture, or mudra, you will also feel the energy of protection, peace and a sense of strong, deep inner security.

The Buddha contains traces of gilt and is decorated in the style often seen during the Ayutthaya Period (14th-17th century). Age: 18th - 19th century.

Great display piece - no repairs. Good codition. Very heavy with 10 kg.
